$$$$ VISTA METALS $1,000.00 TEACHER & STUDENT AWARDS REMINDER $$$$:   It’s not too late!  Submit your Vista Metals paperwork to Tracy in the Office by Friday, April 16.  It’s a pretty easy way to earn a quick one thousand dollars!  Teachers, you get to spend the money on whatever you want.  Students, you get money towards your college or trade school.  If you need more information, come and see Tracy in the Office.

STUDENTS: Penn State will be holding informational meetings in Southern California, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, on the following evenings: Wednesday, April 21, in San Diego, Monday, April 26, in Costa Mesa, and Wednesday, April 28, in Sherman Oaks. Details are available in the College/Career Center. An RSVP is required.

ARE YOU INTERESTED? CSU Stanislaus will be on campus Monday, April 19th, for a presentation about their admissions process, programs and financial aid. The presentation will be given periods 3, 4b & 5 in G-101. If you are interested in attending, please sign-up in the College/Career Center by Thursday, April 15th

SENIORS: The Local Scholarship application is now available in the College/Career Center and the Guidance Office. The deadline to return the application to the College/Career Center is Monday,
April 19th.

STUDENTS: The F.U.S.D. 2nd Annual Career Awareness Faire will be held on April 14th, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, for high school students, at the New Adult Education & ROP Center. There will be Career Speakers from a wide range of career fields, and workshops for Job Applications, Resume writing, and Career Exploration. There will also be food, door prizes and entertainment. All students and their families are welcome to attend. For details see Mrs. Guillen, in the College/Career Center, or visit the Work Experience Office in F-115.

COLLEGE FAIR: The NACAC National College Fair will be held on Thursday, April 22nd, at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino. There will be two sessions. A morning session from 9:00 am to
12:00 pm, and an evening session from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be more than 150 colleges/universities represented, as well as workshops on Financial Aid, How to Choose a College and Major, and information for the College Bound Athlete. Admission to the College Fair is free, however there is a $5.00 parking fee. SCHOLARSHIPS: A list of scholarships available in the College/Career Center is on the Summit Website, under “Student Life” “Scholarships,” and on the Student “T-Drive.”

  • The Fontana Assoc. for Bilingual Education Scholarship ranges from $100 to $1000, and is open to bilingual students who want to become teachers. Application deadline is 4/28/10.

 

    • Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Eta Nu Omega Scholarship is open to African-American females. Application deadline is 4/16/10.
